This is supposed to
fix the problem with your computer freezing when the Wellness Profile is trying
to print or view PDF files. It also removes the Print menu. Any
documents can be printed by viewing them first (under the View menu). This is a good idea anyway
since this assures that the document(s) are the ones you want,
I have tried to make the instruction
as clear as possible. Not all screen images below will be exactly like
yours. They could be different because of differing Windows version and
differing Setup. They will certainly be different because your Folder and
File structure will be different than mine. You may also get messages from
your Firewall that are not illustrated at all below. Allow the activities
called for in these Firewall instructions to be executed.
If in doubt, read the instructions
again.
All instructions and illustrations
assume your current Wellness Profile program is installed in the following
location: (C:\Program Files\Wellness Profile 6.3) This is the default
location for the program installation. If you installed the program in
some other location you will have to navigate to that location when the
instructions call for you to navigate to the default location.
Each part of the instructions has a
video. The text and video explain the same process. Choose whichever
you feel will help you the most. To watch the video Windows Media Player
is required. It is a free
download by clicking
download. Click the Media Player icon below to watch the videos.
First, in order to be able to revert
to the old way in case something doesn't work on your computer you will need to
do Part A below. Parts B and C are the actual fix.
Part A: Renaming the
existing program file.
(1:36)
Part B: Downloading
the new program file and placing it in the proper location.
(0:55)
Part C: Downloading
the and installing the new Open Adobe Reader program.
(2:32)
Part A:
Renaming
the existing program file.
-
Double click on the My
Computer icon on your desktop.

-
Double click on the Local Disk
(C:).
Note: If you installed the
Wellness Profile program in some location other than the default (C:\Wellness
Profile\Wellness Profile 6.3), then you will need to navigate to the
folder containing your program rather than as illustrated in Steps 2 - 4.

Note 2: If your view
of My Computer doesn't look anything like the above. Click on the
View menu on the My Computer window. Then click on Details.
-
Double click on the Program
Files folder. You may have to scroll to see it.

-
Double click on the Wellness
Profile 6.3 folder. You will almost assuredly have to scroll down
to see this one.

-
Scroll down to the WLP.exe
file and Right click it.

-
This will bring up a pop-up menu
as shown below.
-
Click on Rename.

-
Notice how the file name is now
enclosed in a box and highlighted. This is because it is ready to
receive keyboard input just like in a word processor.

Also notice that
the right end of the highlighted file name is blinking.
-
Find the Left Arrow key on
your keyboard and press it four times. Notice as you press it that
the highlighting disappears and the cursor moves one character to the left
with each press of the left arrow key. Your cursor should now be
between "WLP" and ".exe". Make sure it is to the left of the dot.
-
Now type: a space, the
word "Old", another space, and today's date in the format
yymmdd. In the example the year is 2008 (08) the month is
February (02) and the day is the 4th (04). The end
result should be WLP Old 080204.exe as seen in the image below except
the date would be whatever date you are doing this. When the
typing is complete, press the Enter key on the keyboard or just click
somewhere else.

Part B:
Downloading the new program file and placing it in the proper location.
-
Click the Download button
below.

-
You should be presented with a
window something like one of the two below. Do NOT click the Run
button. Click the Save File
or Save
button.

-
Next you should be asked where
you want to save the file. Your starting point may be different than
that pictured below. Directly below the Title Bar it should say "Save
in:". This is the current location where the file will be saved.
It needs to be changed so click on the small Down Arrow at the right
end of the "Save in" field.

-
A dropdown list should appear.

-
Click on Local Disc (C:)

-
Double click on the Program
Files folder. You may have to scroll to see it.

-
Double click on the Wellness
Profile 6.3 folder. You will almost assuredly have to scroll down
to see this one.

-
Click on the Save button
as shown in the image below.

You now have the new program
installed but you need to install another program to make it work.
Part C:
Downloading and installing the new Open Adobe Reader program.
-
Click the Download button
below. This will download the Setup program.
-
Exactly like Steps 2 and 3 in
Part B you will be asked to Save the file and where you want to save it.
It is not important where you save it. What is important is
that you pay attention to where you save it so you can find it easily
later. It is permissible and easiest if you save it to the Wellness Profile 6.3
folder.
-
After clicking the Download
button above, you should be presented with a
window something like one of the two below. Do NOT click the Run
button. Click the Save File
or Save
button.

-
Next you should be asked where
you want to save the file. Your starting point may be different than
that pictured below. Directly below the Title Bar it should say "Save
in:". This is the current location where the file will be saved.
If it needs to be changed, click on the small Down Arrow at the right
end of the "Save in" field. Once you have the desired
location in the field to the right of "Save in:" then click the Save
button.

-
If you are presented with a
window such as that shown below, do NOT click on the Run or Open Folder
buttons. Click on the Close button.

-
This completes the download of
the first file but does not complete the process. Do not run this
program at this time. It will not work.
-
Click the Download
button below. This will download a file necessary for Setup to work.

-
Exactly like Steps 2 and 3 in
Part B you will be asked to Save the file and where you
want to save it. This time it is extremely important where you
save it. You must save it into the same folder as Step 2 of
Part C.
-
After clicking the Download
button above, you should be presented with a
window something like the one of the two below. Do NOT click the
Run button. Click the Save File
or Save
button.

-
Next you should be asked where
you want to save the file. Your starting point may be different than
that pictured below. Directly below the Title Bar it should say "Save
in:". This is the current location where the file will be saved.
If it needs to be changed, click on the small Down Arrow at the right
end of the "Save in" field. Once you have the desired
location in the field to the right of "Save in:" then click the Save
button. Be absolutely certain you save it in the same folder as the
previous download of the file Setup.exe. That was the file you
downloaded in Part C Steps 1 - 6.

-
If you are presented with a
window such as that shown below, you are in luck. Click on the Open
Folder button. Then proceed to Step 17 below.

-
Now that you have downloaded the
2 files into the same folder, you are ready to install the new Open Adobe
Reader program.
-
Double click on the My
Computer icon on your desktop.

-
Double click on the Local Disk
(C:).
Note: If you downloaded the
2 files above (setup.exe and OpenAcRd Installer.msi) in some location other than
(C:\Wellness
Profile\Wellness Profile 6.3), then you will need to navigate to the
folder containing these 2 files rather than as illustrated in Steps 14 - 16.

-
Double click on the Program
Files folder. You may have to scroll to see it.

-
Double click on the Wellness
Profile 6.3 folder. You will almost assuredly have to scroll down
to see this one.

-
Double click on the Setup.exe
file.

-
The installer will start.
You will be presented with a series of screens that contain, among other
things a Next button.
-
Click on the Next button
on each screen until you get to a screen like the one shown below.

-
You may want to click the
Everyone radio button if you are the sole user of the computer. If
you have other people who have access to your computer and have set up your
computer so different people log in separately, then you may want to leave
the Just me radio button checked.
-
If your Wellness Profile Program
is located in the default location shown in the Folder field seen above,
then you need not change that field. You may proceed to Step 22.
However, if you installed the Wellness Profile program in some other
location, then you will need to click the Browse button and navigate
to that folder.
a. Once
you have browsed to the folder containing your program and entered it in the
Folder field
b. You
must add OpenAcRd\ at the end as seen in the image above.
-
Click the Next button in
all the subsequent screens except the last one.
-
In the last screen click the
Close button.
You are done. Run your Wellness Profile program.
View some PDF documents.
If for some reason or another the new
program doesn't work. Just follow the procedures
in Part A again, starting with Step 1 until you get to Step 10. The new
Step 10 will be to use the backspace key to remove " Old 080204". This
leaves you with the original file name of WLP.exe.
